Hi, I'm Aleks — having been involved music for the majority of my life, I am blessed to be able to pass this gift on to other people. Having just graduated from the Purcell school, studying viola with Sarah-Jane Bradley, on a full scholarship, and now applying to top conservatoires, with hopes to become a world renowned musician, I'm very excited to help other with their journey!

"I believe every person has a sense of music since they were born — it just takes the right teacher, the right pace, and a lot of encouragement to bring it all out"

I work peripatetically, which means I come to you. There's no need to travel anywhere — I bring everything needed for the lesson. I teach children from age 5 through to teenagers, as well as adult beginners who've always wanted to try.

I'm DBS-checked, and experienced preparing students for ABRSM and Trinity grades — though exams are entirely optional.

Common questions

How long are lessons?
Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes depending on age and experience. I recommend 30 mins for younger children and 60 mins for older learners and adults, especially those with more experience
Do I need my own instrument?
Yes — It's absolutely essential that students have an instrument at home to practice on! I'm happy to advise on hiring or buying a suitable instrument for your budget.
Do lessons follow a syllabus or exams?
For younger children or students, I teach following the ABRSM exam syllabus, as well as other techniques, to set them up well for any future music endeavours, with formal qualifications. As for adults, grades usually aren't as uselful so i use my own, more traditional method of teaching! (Although any adult learners are very welcome to take graded exams - it can be a nice thing to work towards!)
Where do lessons take place?
I come to your home. I teach across all CR postcodes, as well as, Merstham, redhill and Caterham. If I didn't mention your area but you live close, still give me a shout and I'll see what I can do!.
